Musée de la Sculpture en Plein Air

Back in Paris after a bit of traveling, it was nice to take it easy and just go for a stroll at the Musée de la Sculpture en Plein Air, an outdoor sculpture museum in the 5th arrondissement, right next to the beautiful Jardin des Plantes.

The museum is located on the banks of the Seine and stretches some 600 meters along the Quai Saint-Bernard between the Pont d’Austerlitz and the Pont de Sully.

On display are sculptures from the second half of the 20th century, including Reinhoud's disturbing "Melmoth" (from the Gothic novel Melmoth the Wanderer), pictured at the bottom. And since none of the sculptures are fenced off, you can take a very close look at them and even climb on them if you're a kid.
